UKVI Launches eVisa System for Students
What You Need to Know About the Transition from BRPs and BRCs”
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) is ushering in a new era for managing immigration documentation with the rollout of its digital immigration system. As part of its modernization efforts, UKVI will replace traditional physical documents such as Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs), Biometric Residence Cards (BRCs), and older paper-based documents with a streamlined online record known as the eVisa.
Effective from today, 7th August 2024 , students holding a BRP expiring on December 31, 2024, can now create a UKVI account to access their eVisa. This move aims to simplify the process of managing immigration status and reduce the reliance on physical documentation. The new eVisa system will enable students to view and manage their immigration status online, enhancing convenience and accessibility.
